Fall Fun Walk

This October we not only had the best weather, but we could not have asked for such a great activity put together by the LIFE fitness team. The fitness team held an awesome Fall Fun Walk for all three LIFE campuses.
The Fun Walk was not just any walk, it was a fundraiser to support the LIFE Special Olympics teams. Each participate from all three campuses donated $20.00 to the walk. All the money that was donated will go the LIFE’s Special Olympics teams.
On Saturday, October 24 th , we all got on a Zoom call with the fitness staff. Matt West and Kim Cassim led our dynamic warm up, and then off we went to meet our fitness leaders for the walk.
Each fitness staff member led the walk. Ian Saarmann led Mashpee’s campus, Kim Cassim led Hyannis, and Matt West and Justin Secher led Plymouth. The goal was to complete two miles. To make it more fun, all three campuses challenged each other to see who could walk two miles and finish first. Mashpee came up on top and finished first.
Everyone had a great time. I really enjoyed walking with my friends in the beautiful weather with fellow Mashpee athletes including Jill C., Linda R., Margaret C., Dan S., Jon D., Mike S., and many more.
Thank you to the fitness team for putting this together. I hope we continue to do this for many years to come. Because of all the hard work by everyone who participated in the fun walk, LIFE was able to raise approximately $1,000. That is just amazing.
Thank you to all who participated in this year’s 2020 Fall Fun Walk. You are all champions!
