What is the LIFE Community?

LIFE is focused on enhancing program quality and addressing the evolving needs of its individuals as they proceed through the stages of their adult lives. A strong partnership with LIFE’ families is a cornerstone of past success and a base for a successful future.

Incorporated in 1992, LIFE opened its Supported Independent Living Program to 10 adults with learning disabilities at its Hyannis, MA condominium community in 1993. By 1996, the Hyannis location had more than doubled in physical size and number of residents served.

In 1997, as a result of growing success, LIFE built a second condominium village in the town of Mashpee, MA which made it possible to provide supportive services to many more learning challenged adults. We continue to support LIFE individuals in our third location in Plymouth, MA and throughout Cape Cod in group homes and with individual supports.

Our Mission

The mission of LIFE is to assist individuals in developing the skills they need to function as independently as possible within the community for self-fulfillment and happiness.

The active citizens within our beautiful LIFE communities in Plymouth and on Cape Cod perform volunteer service at local civic organizations and take advantage of the wonderful recreational activities available in our scenic, coastal region. Our condominium villages are close to malls, movie theaters, museums, galleries and sporting events.

Although most of LIFE residents live within our condominium communities, we also support young adults who live off-site living in our Southeastern Massachusetts locations. Whether your family member prefers on or off “campus” living, our staff will assist in guiding you toward the very best outcome.
