Operations Administrative Assistant

Living Independently Forever, Inc., (LIFE) an agency supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and autism to live happy, independent lives, is seeking an Administrative Assistant with an eye for detail and a flair for customer service to help enhance the quality of our services.

LIFE is seeking a new administrative position who will report to the Chief Operating Officer assisting with cross departmental special projects, coordinating quality assurance activities, and providing support to the agency’s growing behavioral health services.

The person in this position will work with moderate supervision/guidance.

The position is 40 hours per week M-F 9am-5pm with an excellent benefits package.

Candidate must possess:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Update monthly reports measuring performance against quality assurance standards
  • Assist with the implementation of agency wide systems enhancements and policy updates
  • Schedule and conduct quality assurance audits agency wide, reporting on results
  • Act as a liaison between the behavioral health team, the individuals, and families we serve, and the health insurance agencies covering the services
  • Assist as needed in the creation of participant Case Books and Electronic Healthcare Records
  • Schedule recurring meetings
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance

Qualifications:

  • Work experience in an administrative support position
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Some periods of standing and bending for filing and organizing
  • Small percentage of driving to other LIFE communities
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

All LIFE employees must pass a CORI, DPPC and Fingerprinting review per the Department of Developmental Services.

RBT—Registered Behavior Technician

$20.00 – $28.00 per hour, dependent upon experience and education          

We are currently seeking an RBT—Registered Behavior Technician for Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder & Learning-Disabilities

The Behavior Technician is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans under the close ongoing supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

This 1:1 direct service to clients with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities occurs in the home, or community setting using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Example of Duties Include:

• Implementation of all teaching plans and programs developed by the supervising BCBA
• Work directly with clients, providing Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) and Natural Environmental Teaching (NET)
• Collection of data for each goal/objective during each session or as frequently as defined in the ABA treatment plan
• Follow behavior plans as designed by the supervising BCBA
• Act as a positive representative for Living Independently Forever and the industry; maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with client’s caregiver(s)
• Communicate any clinical or family concerns to immediate supervisor in a timely manner- Participate in regular staff training

Administrative Responsibilities Examples:

• Attendance at monthly team & staff meetings
• Completion of daily client notes

Qualifications:

• Education (preferred): Bachelors or Associates degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Social Work, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field.
• Location: Cape Cod and Plymouth
• Work Experience: At least two years cumulative experience with Applied Behavior Analysis in a direct service, training, or school-based setting with an RBT are required.
• Availability: Varies, but could include afternoons, evenings, or Saturdays.
• Licenses: Due to the need to travel to-and-from clients’ homes, applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Required: Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and have (or willing to attend) CPR/BLS.
• All applicants must consent to a criminal background investigation (CORI, DPPC Registry, DDS Fingerprints) and motor-vehicle record review.

Sandwich in NEW Hybrid Group Home opening in January: We are currently seeking someone to work Monday to Friday 6:30am-9:30am; Monday to Friday 3pm-9pm and Saturday and Sunday 12pm-10pm.

Centerville: We are currently seeking someone to work Saturday and Sunday 9am-9pm; if interested, we can add a few weekday shifts to make this a full-time position.

Hyannis: Sunday 9pm-9am (into Monday)

 

These homes have active clients who engage in many activities they cannot wait to get back to as the pandemic continues to stabilize. If you would like a full-time position–we can work that out for you as well.

Candidate must be caring and patient as you will be working with our learning-disabled residents that reside in our lovely Group Homes.

The support of these active and heart-warming residents is done through:
• Instruction, guidance and by serving as a positive example to these active adults
• Assisting them to maximize and maintain their independence in their home and in the community by assisting with life skills –cooking, planning, and reviewing daily/weekly schedules, cleaning
• Assisting in preparation for their morning, evening or night routines as needed, etc. and on errands and social activities in the community or virtually.
• Ensuring that the Home role modeled by the staff maintains sanitary conditions of workspaces and vehicles and complies with LIFE guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (e.g., uses PPE, social distancing, etc.)
• Applicant must be able to project a positive and patient personality and provide ongoing support, interaction, and encouragement to our clients.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be +18 years old
• MUST BE KIND, PATIENT and HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR
• Valid driver’s license required with acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle (mileage is reimbursed on the rare occasion when driving your personal vehicle is needed.)
• Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with supported individuals, co-workers and parents

Job Coach for Day Program (Sandwich, MA)

$16 per hour, full-time business hours, Monday-Friday

This is a role where you can truly make a difference in the lives of others in a fun and exciting organization with exceptional growth potential!

We are currently seeking a Job Coach for our CBDS (Community Based Day Services) Program to provide on-site and community counseling, training and individual instruction to our wonderful LIFE residents with learning disabilities to help them reach their full potential in the workplace. This position is in the Sandwich Day Services location and the surrounding community.

  • Applicant must be patient, outgoing and organized.
  • Have excellent verbal and training skills.
  • Enjoy working with people of different age groups and abilities.
  • Be a team player.
  • Proficiency in basic technology (examples: Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.).
  • Can support learning and cognitively disabled adults to help them build confidence and independence in the workplace.
  • Must provide resident transportation to and from employment sites and will need occasionally need to use personal vehicle (will be reimbursed for mileage).
  • Must have the stamina to be present in the varied workplaces (may include being outside) with the resident to provide proper job coaching support.

Position is 35-40 hours weekly and are 8AM-4PM-ish (we can be somewhat flexible).

  • Experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality or training background excellent

Shared Living Provider (Multiple Locations)

Join our growing team of compassionate and reliable providers to support the wonderful individuals we serve at LIFE.

Shared Living is an arrangement available to qualified adults that is funded by The Department of Developmental Services (DDS).

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Shared Living Provider to oversee care for an individual with DDS services to reside in their home or yours, depending on the circumstances.

The Shared Living Provider would live with this young person.

In this crucial role you will:

• Help our participant to live a full and meaningful life.
• Be able to provide hands on ADL as needed.
• Continuously attend to medical needs under the Medication Administration Program (MAP) training provided.
• Drive and transport participant to appointments and activities.
• Monitor on-going medical issues.
• Take vital signs as needed.
• Assist in planning, food shopping, prep, and cooking with participant.
• Prepare paperwork for and attend appointments.
• Transport participant to appointments, and activities.

Qualifications:

• MAP Certified (Will provide training)
• First Aid & CPR Certified (Will provide training)
• Valid Driver’s License w/ reliable transportation (vehicle)
• COVID guidelines followed – PPE, etc. as required.

The LIFE Community based out of The Pinehills and Harborwalk in Plymouth is seeking a full time (or part time) Job Coach to provide counseling, training, and individual instruction to our wonderful LIFE clients to help them reach their full potential through workplace training in their workplaces that are located throughout the Plymouth area.

  • Must live in or around the Plymouth, MA area.
  • Employment type can be full-time or part-time. The position is generally Monday-Sunday daytime hours.  We can be somewhat flexible around your needs.
  • Full-time position offers an exceptional benefits package.
