    GROUP HOME MANAGER

    for Adults with Learning Disabilities

    We are currently seeking a caring and experienced individual to join the LIFE family as a GROUP HOME MANAGER for one our  homes for adults with learning and cognitive disabilities. 

    The Group Home Manager will oversee the clinical, financial and administrative needs of the EXCEPTIONAL residents we serve.

     
    This position will also ensure that proper standards and regulations are followed, and that all quality standards for the residents in the group home are being met. Additional responsibilities include managing, scheduling and training staff and working with appropriate agencies to assist our residents to be as independent as possible.

    In addition, the Group Home Manager, along with the staff, works with the residents providing instruction, support, and to serve as a positive example to our residents inside the group home residence and on errands, appointments and activities in the community. Applicant must be able to project a positive personality and provide ongoing support, interaction and encouragement. 

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Experience with Learning Disabled population Required.
    • Management experience Desired.
    • Education in social services Desired 
    • Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with coworkers, supported individuals, families and relative agencies
    • Strong time management skills needed
    • Hold and attend staff meetings as needed or required to maintain an excellent flow of communication
    • Must be willing to attend required training classes (CPR/First Aid, Human Rights and MAP training) and development classes as needed
    • Valid driver’s license required
    • MUST be able to pass a CORI, Fingerprint and Driving check

    Job Coaches Hyannis and Mashpee

    We are currently seeking a Job Coach to provide on-site counseling, training and individual instruction to our wonderful LIFE residents with learning disabilities to help them reach their full potential in the workplace.

    • Applicant must be patient, outgoing and organized
    • Have excellent verbal and training skills
    • Enjoy working with people of different age groups and abilities
    • Be a team player
    • Have the ability to support learning disabled residents to help them build confidence and independence in the workplace.
    • Must provide resident transportation to and from employment sites and will need to use personal vehicle the majority of the time (will be reimbursed for mileage)
    • Must have the stamina to be present in the varied workplaces with the resident to provide proper job coaching support.

    Work week is five days and may include Saturday. Position is 10-20 hours weekly. Flexible hours fall between 7:30AM and 5:30PM.

    Requirements:
    Experience in Retail, Restaurant. Hospitality or Training background excellent

    Group Homes/Individual Support/Direct Care Professionals

    General statement of Duties and Responsibilities

    The Direct Care Professional provides direct care to physically challenged residents with learning disabilities, at Living Independently Forever, Inc., in order to maintain and improve their dignity, well-being, and safety, and to promote personal development, independence and enjoyment.

    Part Time positions available!

    The Direct Care Professional will support residents in becoming more independent in their daily living by:

    • Help plan, prepare and post a simple weekly menu.
    • Assist resident(s) with housekeeping, laundry, arrange clothing by outfit and other daily chores.
    • Assist resident(s) with self-administration of medications.
    • Assist with personal grooming and hygiene skills.
    • Assist resident(s) in preparation for their morning, evening or night routines.
    • Provide ongoing support and encouragement.
    • Review daily/weekly schedule.
    • Prepare meals and assist with transfer of items from place to place    (ie: hot and or breakable).
    • Accompany to grocery shopping and other necessary personal needs shopping.
    • Accompany resident(s) to a variety of fun activities and field trips.
    • Other duties as determined.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience and knowledge working with individuals with learning disabilities preferred.
    • Must be Medication Administration Program (MAP) Certified within six months of employment. May be obtained through LIFE.
    • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification – may be obtained after hire through LIFE.
    • Human Rights Certified – training may be obtained after hire through LIFE.
    • A valid driver’s license.
