Imagine waking up for an 8:00AM yoga class at a calm pool overlooking the palm trees, feeling the mild breeze off the water. Then you get to take a short trip to a breakfast spot with a view of the ocean. The day is then filled with unique activities followed by dinner and dancing. Sounds great, right? Well that is a brief snapshot of what the 2017 LIFE vacation was all about, thanks to the oasis in Florida known as Club Med in Sandpiper Bay.

There was some form of activity or relaxation for everyone—from fitness activities to cooking demonstrations to lounging by one of three pools to dancing the night away with the DJ. It truly ran the gamut. Many of the residents tried new activities for the first time, including kayaking, sailing, stand-up paddle-boarding—and for the more brave souls, flying trapeze! 

It was remarkable to watch the residents completely immerse themselves in the Club Med experience. The resort is referred to as a “village,” and everyone within this vacation spot was patient and welcoming and very helpful to everyone they came into contact with. This group of top-notch staff gave everyone a sense of calm and ease, and added an important element to the group vacation. 

At the center of the village were the main pool and the market place, which was the main dining area. The food in the market place was expertly prepared with choices available for every palate; all while being served buffet style. (There was also a sit-down restaurant where many staff and residents spent their time.)

On the morning of the last day, one couple in particular expressed their admiration of the LIFE group; they said their vacation was made more enjoyable thanks to the memories they made with each and every person they came into contact with. That sounds like our LIFE group! Overall it was a memorable week for everyone involved. Having experienced Disney World and Bermuda Cruises, this most recent trip seems to rank among the very best.
