The LIFE Plymouth community is our newest Supported Independent Living (SIL) location with availability to continue to grow.
LIFE Cape Cod serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities – we are not a senior living or assisted living community.
The LIFE Plymouth Supported Independent Living (SIL) community is conveniently located near downtown Plymouth, Massachusetts, just five minutes from our accessible offices.
Individuals who are part of LIFE’s Plymouth SIL community live in apartments integrated into the greater Plymouth community. They enjoy numerous social events at LIFE’s Plymouth community center located in historic Cordage Park, which is accessible by public transportation.
This community offers an on-site fitness center, and numerous recreational options including nature walks, visiting the beautiful nearby coastline, as well as excursions to Boston for museum and cultural experiences.
LIFE individuals take group walks on the rail trail from Harborwalk apartments to Plymouth center to enjoy the many shops and restaurants there.
Plymouth’s historic Main Street is walkable, with numerous local shops, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment options for LIFE individuals to explore within 15 minutes of their apartment. Additionally, Plymouth’s nearby waterfront, beach areas, and nature trails offer opportunities to enjoy walks and the beautiful nature in our neighborhood. We love the Three V Sand Bar on the beach in the summer, as well as ThreeV Restaurant all year long, conveniently located at Cordage Park.
Local bus transportation in Plymouth is available through the Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority, better known as GATRA. These buses connect to all the different parts of Plymouth including the waterfront, shopping areas, and neighboring communities all the way to Manomet.
GATRA also offers on-demand transportation called GATRA-Go, where individuals can request a ride rather than relying on a fixed bus route. This can be especially useful when a fixed route doesn’t go directly where you’re headed. Rides can be scheduled up to 24 hours in advance. This is a valuable option that many LIFE individuals use to get to work. There’s also GATRA’s Dial-A-Ride, which requires an eligibility application for individuals with disabilities.
Uber and Lyft are the most-used ride options in Plymouth for LIFE individuals because they can share the cost of a ride and offer the most direct way to travel.

LIFE’s Community-based Day Services (CBDS) program, also located in Cordage Park, helps LIFE individuals as they explore their interests and gain valuable vocational and volunteer experience as a pathway to jobs for adults with learning disabilities with the assistance of a LIFE Job Coach.
