- Perform additional duties, or substitute for others as required. Additional duties may include but are not limited to, clearing snow and ice from walkways, vehicles, parking lots, and roads using equipment like shovels, snow blowers while applying deicing agents to ensure safety
Essential Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Role modeling professionalism
- Develop positive relationships with LIFE residents, families, and staff
- Daily documentation of activities/goals performed
- Effectively manage LIFE email account
- Complete required training as assigned
- Intervene verbally with individuals during behavioral incidents
- Transport residents to and from employment and Volunteer sites as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Other duties as determined by Supervisor or Director
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities or vulnerable population preferred.
- Background in retail, hospitality, restaurant, or training environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical coursework preferred
- Demonstrated patience, kindness, and composure
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Ability to be present and active in varied work environments, including outdoor settings
- Stamina to provide hands-on coaching and instruction throughout the day

Essential Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Individual Assessment:
- Completes a thorough assessment of employment strengths and weaknesses of the resident at the time of entrance.
- Contributes goals/objectives to the annual Individualized Service Plan and semi-annual progress reviews for all the residents.
- Coordinates situational/experiential assessment activities if needed to determine appropriate placement.
- Conducts and reports on vocational assessment activities which are part of the application review process for new applicants.
Job Development:
- Regularly researches available jobs through newspapers, personal contacts, DET listing, current employment sites, etc. for potential job opportunities.
- Investigate specific job sites for suitability for targeted residents.
- Educates employers regarding the unique needs of each client in the workplace.
- Works with Employment Team on Employment Workshop curriculum and agenda.
Job Seeking:
- Reviews, updates, and tailors the current resume with the resident as needed.
- Teaches job seeking skills through Work Readiness Class and individual instruction.
- Oversees submission of properly completed employment applications and resumes.
Job Maintenance:
- Serves as, or arranges for, a job coach for the residents at the job site, as needed.
- Maintains regular contact with residents’ employers to monitor performance and discuss input from employer with the residents.
- Acts as advocate and liaison with the employer to resolve work performance problems.
- Ensures needed transportation has been arranged on a regular basis
Other Career/Employment Service Functions
- Acts as liaison with state and community agencies to assist with securing and coordinating employment placements, job training and/or job coaching, e.g., CBDS, MRC, DDS, ETC.
- Drafts professional reports as requested by supervisor, other professionals, or agencies to coordinate vocational services for residents.
- Ensure Quality, clean case notes, and billables by you and any job coaches worked with

- Must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, and compute for varying periods of time. Lifting ability of 10 pounds.

Fitness Specialist – Plymouth
Job Summary:
The Fitness Specialist position will assist the LIFE Fitness Team in supporting the community members to reach their fitness and healthy lifestyle goals. The Fitness Specialist is responsible for ensuring all fitness routines are being followed.
Hour Category: 35-40 Hours Per week (Full Time)
Location: Plymouth MA
Pay Range: $21.00 -$23.00
Saturday availability is a must for the Special olympics.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Complete required training as assigned
- Assist with organizing and executing our Annual 5K Road Race/Walk and other fundraising activities
- Keeps detailed notes and billing per DDS regulations
- Oversees Gym, and ensures all equipment are in working order, and that all safety and hygiene standards are being followed
- Teaches Nutrition classes to promote Health, Independence, and quality of life to the individuals LIFE supports
- Working directly with residents with personal training sessions, fitness assessments and overall promotion of living a healthy lifestyle
- Intervene verbally with individuals during behavioral incidents
- Working with department staff to track residents’ fitness and nutrition progress
- Expansion of our department Brain Gym and mental skills training program
- Create and maintain fitness routines and schedule for individuals served
- Other duties as determined by Supervisor or Director
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities or vulnerable population preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fitness or Nutrition or related field is preferred
- Special Olympic Coaching Experience Preferred
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Have the ability to lift 75 pounds as needed
- Have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Have the ability to physically model training routines to the residents

About the Individual You’ll Support
They are kind and active individuals who loves socializing, and being part of the community. They may participate in adaptive sports and the Special Olympics—and the individuals we serve are looking for someone who will cheer them on, help them stay organized, and share in the fun.
Your Role as a Provider
As a Shared Living Provider, you’ll offer more than care—you’ll offer connection, encouragement, and stability.
You’ll help by:
- Creating a warm, welcoming home environment
- Supporting daily routines and appointments
- Encouraging participation in sports and social events
- Assisting with daily exercises and healthy habits
- Planning meals, shopping, and cooking together
- Supporting ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) through positive role modeling
- Attending appointments and managing basic documentation
- Maintaining confidential records and using basic computer tools
What You Bring:
- A kind, patient, and flexible personality
- A passion for helping others live full lives
- Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities (personal, volunteer, or professional is a plus)
- Basic computer skills
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Willingness to complete First Aid & CPR training (provided by LIFE)
- Ability to pass DDS background checks (DPPC, CORI, Fingerprinting)
