The Karen Reheiser Fund for Fitness & Wellness (The Karen Fund) mission is to support LIFE programs that enhance health and wellbeing. Your contribution to this fund will directly support programs that promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

In memory of Karen Reheiser, a cherished LIFE resident for over 22 years and proud, award-winning Special Olympics athlete. Karen’s vibrant spirit and commitment to living life to the fullest touched us all.

Your generous contribution to The Karen Fund will directly support vital programs that promote a healthy and active lifestyle, such as:

Aging-Focused Programs:

Supporting gentle exercises, chair yoga, water aerobics, and other activities specifically designed to promote the health and mobility of our aging participants.

Nutrition Education:

Offering valuable nutritional classes tailored to each community, with the potential to engage a nutritionist or registered dietitian to provide expert guidance on grocery shopping, meal preparation, and healthy eating habits.

Mindfulness Programs:

Providing opportunities for stress reduction and emotional wellbeing through yoga, Zumba, dance therapy, drumming circles, and mindfulness classes.

Fitness Equipment:

Investing in necessary equipment for various LIFE locations, ensuring fitness options for everyone.

Facility Rentals:

Enabling larger, inclusive events across all LIFE locations by renting appropriate gym spaces and venues.

YMCA & Health Memberships:

Exploring opportunities to cover the cost of YMCA or other health-related memberships, further expanding access to fitness resources.
